Coaching for Women
1-on-1 coaching for women who want to lead successfully and live life on their terms
Women professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs often face challenges when it comes to leading or running a thriving business while maintaining a fulfilling life away from work.
Having to juggle both work responsibilities with home duties without appropriate support means that women in business regularly experience higher levels of stress and burnout because of this uneven work-life balance. I know, as I was one of those high-achieving women stuck in survival mode - and didn't even realise it.
Building a career, supporting a family and caring for others while maintaining a positive mindset can be difficult, especially when there is not enough time for yourself. It's easy to become so focused on others that you lose sight of what you need as a business owner or leader. Countless ‘strong’ and ‘successful women are disconnected from their core needs and fall ill or burn out without realising it.
Today, I've turned my experience into my purpose. I'm committed to leveraging my lived experience, expertise and passion to help you create the environment where you flourish, are able to embrace all facets of yourself, prioritise your unique needs alongside your ambitions. It's when thriving, not merely surviving, becomes the norm.
Big ideas, real impact
I provide specialised guidance and insights for business owners and leaders that focusses on personal growth and goal setting.
Women-centric coaching is designed to support women in business who find that they are always busy but don't have the time or space to think, constantly putting the needs of others ahead of their own. Coaching helps professionals, leaders, women entrepreneurs and small business owners who might be questioning whether they are on the right path, despite having achieved much still feel stuck, or find themselves suffering from imposter syndrome.
My approach to coaching also provides the chance for women to connect with other women in business, understand and prioritise their needs, become more confident, and gain a greater understanding of their impact on their team’s performance.
Challenges for women in business
My women clients regularly tell me that they experience a variety of challenges when working to achieve their full potential in the business world.
For instance, women are often held to different standards by peers, executives, board members or investors, meaning they are disproportionately affected . Likewise, women entrepreneurs running their own business often face slower growth than male peers.
Recent research on women in the workplace shows that women are still more likely to have their judgement questioned, be interrupted, mistaken for someone more junior, or have their ideas overlooked until repeated by someone else. These aren't isolated experiences, but are patterns documented across large-scale workplace studies.
Despite making up almost half of the workforce, women continue to face what researchers call the ‘broken rung’, the first promotion into management. This single step has a compounding effect throughout a career, with women consistently receiving fewer promotions than equally qualified men.
The research also shows that women leaders are consistently judged against a different standard than men. While men are often evaluated on their potential, women are more likely to be evaluated on proven performance, but are also expected to be both highly competent and highly likeable, walking a narrow line that their male colleagues are far less often required to navigate.
At Compass Coaching Group, my mission is to support women by equipping them with the knowledge, skills and tools they require to take their business forward and be more prepared for success.
Coaching and support for women
My business coaching is tailored to address the unique professional hurdles that women commonly face.
Coaching helps professional women with presence, influence and impact. It supports women running a business or company to develop and enhance essential entrepreneurial skills, such as brand development, sales and marketing, customer validation and financial management, as well as supporting them to improve negotiation skills.
Importantly, business coaching for women also encourages the development and fostering of supportive networks with like minded women, and enhances essential communication skills.
The benefits of business coaching for women
The success of my past and current clients demonstrates that there are higher rates of career advancement among coached women.
This is because specialised business coaching helps to improve the decision-making of women, while according to the International Coaching Federation, 70% of coaching clients report improved work performance.
For women running their own company, coaching helps to clarify business goals and strategies, improving stability and long-term business growth.
